Smile this Christmas
Smile this Christmas
Christmas comes but once a year, for which we should all be thankful. Whether you live in the Southern Hemisphere, or the Northern, unless you are living in a ‘shoebox on the side of the road’, actually living in a bombed out house, or in a country where celebrating Christmas is a flogging offence, you may already be ‘over’ Christmas.
I know that some of you have had your share of goats and sheep, pigs and mosquito nets. So, we are not sending you one. We have however, combined all your Christmas cards into two presents.
First, you have contributed to a Woman starting her own Business. Thanks for those that have helped us get Shellock off the ground over the last 2 years with your words of wisdom and support in multiple ways. We all know that starting a business is not easy, and many of you have been and continue to be on that journey (as are we). So we thought that was kind of appropriate.
Secondly, you have contributed to a Mini Farm (yes, it is goats and sheep, but more than one). In New Zealand growing up, most of us would have spent time on a farm, even if it was visiting one for half a day. Those who grew up on a farm know that farming is not easy, not then and not now. But there is something satisfying in being able to produce food for your family, and income to provide for the necessities of life. So in memory of our farming past, we have helped another family on that journey to self-sufficiency.
Shellock Consulting Ltd is a World Vision supporter, and we invite you to check out their website here.
If you would prefer to support a charity closer to home there are many worthwhile causes including your local City Mission, Presbyterian Support, Womens Refuge and Barnardos to name just four that support individuals and families young and old in many different ways, not just at Christmas, but throughout the year.
May you find that your Christmas is peaceful, joyous and loving.
From all of us here at Shellock, Merry Christmas.
PS: it is not too late to go on-line shopping with your charity of choice!
